Adele’s album “30” finally moved to number 1 by Kelly Clarkson’s Christmas album, the single also defeated
Adele’s run to number 1 with her album “30” is over, at least for today.
Kelly Clarkson’s “When Christmas Comes Around” has passed it on iTunes and is number 1. “30” drops to number 2.
Clarkson’s album was boosted by their TV special last night which looked pretty good. It was a callback – a repeat – and the numbers aren’t out yet, but it obviously had an effect on album sales.
Adele is also completely absent at number 1 in the singles chart. “Easy On Me” fell to number 5 after two months. Adele currently has no follow-up single “30” to replace her. “Oh My God” is at 84, and does not come back. Oddly, his 2015 “Water Under the Bridge” is number 54. I don’t know why.
Adele’s album “30” will have a few more sales over the next couple of weeks but unless a second single can be grown I think the novelty is over. Now she’s going to Vegas, where ticket prices are anywhere from $ 1,000 to $ 30,000 depending on how crazy you are. This is where she will make her money playing with people who don’t have any.
