Jesse Cook releases the album “Libre”; Announcement of additional tour dates

Jesse cook – the internationally renowned multi-award winning platinum / gold producer, composer and guitarist – released his 11th studio album, free. Released today via Jesse’s Coach House label, distributed by Outside Music / Redeye, the 10-track album combines Cook’s iconic Spanish guitar flair with Algerian multi-instrumentalist Fethi Nadjem, modern trap rhythms and 808 beats.

Libre arrives alongside the album’s flagship track, “Number 5”, and its music video.

“I wrote and recorded Libre during the pandemic when, like most people, I longed for freedom,” Cook shares of the new project. “My music was my escape from the four walls around me and the storm swirling outside.” The inspiration for Libre came from a long summer day with her 14-year-old son, Cook reveals. “My daughter entertained me with her favorite playlists, most of which were inspired by the trap and the 808. I liked them too, and a question arose in my mind: ‘What would my music be like mixed with these sounds? “”

Cook also recently announced the first stop on his 2022 US “Tempest II” tour. The tour was originally scheduled to take place in 2020 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of his acclaimed debut album, Tempest. Launched in Spokane, WA on January 19 at the Bing Crosby Theater and spanning 43 dates, the trek will take Cook and his group through the West Coast, Midwest, and Northeast.
