Kep1er announces new release date for debut mini album, ‘First Impact’

Future girl group Kep1er will debut next year with their debut mini album ‘First Impact’.

Earlier today (December 8), WAKEONE and Swing Entertainment announced the new release date for the girl group’s next project on the K-pop group’s fan cafe site. “First Impact” will be released on January 3, 2022 at 6 p.m. KST.

The news comes shortly after agencies announced that Kep1er’s debut would be postponed after a staff member who worked with the group tested positive for COVID-19. While no further cases have been detected among Kep1er members and staff, the companies have said they will end all scheduled activities of the group.

This also includes Kep1er’s performance at the upcoming Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) 2021, scheduled for December 11. writes the agencies.

On December 5, WAKEONE and Swing Entertainment announced that a member of their staff had tested positive for COVID-19. They added that their performers were tested preventively for the virus after the staff member showed symptoms and received negative results.

“Currently, the limbs do not show any symptoms of infection such as fever or respiratory problems,” they said. “All affected staff have received COVID-19 testing, and there are no additional confirmed cases at this time. All those who have not yet received their results are isolated.

Kep1er was originally formed earlier this year through the Mnet reality series Planet Girls 999, which aired its last episode in October. The nine-member multinational group includes members from South Korea, Japan and China.
