Moore first confirmed the news that she and her husband were expecting baby No. 2 in June 2022, following the series finale of her hit NBC series It’s us.
“An incredibly groundbreaking chapter of my life has just ended and the next one as a mother of two is about to begin…and are we ever so deeply grateful and excited,” the singer said alongside a photo of the couple’s son, Gus, wearing a ‘Big Brother’ t-shirt. “Baby Boy Goldsmith #2 is coming this fall! The tour is going to be a little different than I expected but I can’t wait and Gus will be the BEST big brother!! Xo.”
Later that same week, Moore gave fans their first glimpse of her growing baby bump when she debuted her baby bump via Instagram Story. The New Hampshire native revealed at the time that she had been “really sick during my first trimester” but was “happy to feel better so I could move my body”.
The princess diaries The star, who married artist Dawes in November 2018, had previously suffered from similar morning sickness during her first pregnancy with son Gus. Months before her arrival in February 2021, Moore was candid about some of the most severe symptoms she faced throughout her first trimester.

The ‘Candy’ crooner revealed that she “stayed in bed all day” and “couldn’t eat”, causing her to lose a lot of weight but the worst was apparently over. “I feel a lot better now. I feel like I’ve got my energy back and [am] feel good,” she added. “No complaints.”
Despite her health issues the first time around, Moore expressed her desire to continue expanding her family as soon as possible. “I’ve told my husband so many times – and really anyone who’s been there will listen – I’m like, ‘I can’t wait to do it again,'” she said during a interview on the “Informed Pregnancy Podcast” in March 2021. “As harrowing as the journey was, I miss it. I’m sad that I can’t relive it or do it again or something like that.
While the looking for freedom star got his wish a year later, the difficult symptoms returned, forcing Moore to cancel the remaining dates of his US tour.
“Friends, it is with a heavy heart and with great consideration that I must let you know that I am canceling my remaining show dates in 2022,” said the It’s us alum fans informed via Instagram in June. “It’s been an honor and an absolute dream to be back on stage last month…When we booked these shows I wasn’t pregnant and although I really thought I could pull it off, the way we travel caught up, wreaked havoc and made it too difficult to continue.
The Checked in! The actress added that she “needs to put my family and my health (and my baby’s health) first” and that “the best place for me right now is at home.” She then thanked her fans for their support and for “respecting my decision.”
“I can’t wait to come back soon to bring this music and show your way!!” she concluded the statement.
