The Guernsey-born producer (real name Alex Crossan) took to Instagram tonight (November 22) to let fans know he will be releasing new music on Friday (November 26).

“new music on Friday ok?” he captioned a video of a pancake prepared in a frying pan with a pair of photos: a close-up of a cat and a photo of her boots.

Additionally, he said he will tease clips from his upcoming third album, the sequel to the 2020 “RYC (Raw Youth Collage)”, on his TikTok. “Follow my tik tok, this is where I post album clips and production videos,” he wrote.

In a five-star review of ‘RYC’, NME‘s Thomas Smith said, “’ RYC ‘is at its most provocative and memorable when its larger-than-life characters and productions become unbalanced and combustible with the thirst for life.

“Yet Mura Masa’s anxious contemplation of modern life – the ups, downs, lies we tell ourselves to make everything better – hits just as hard.”

Last year, the producer funded a new program to train black women for live musical roles.

Announcing the new 12-week program, Masa explained that the reasoning behind the program was that there was “a serious and serious lack of women of color” in roles in the music industry.

Meanwhile, Alice Longyu Gao brought in Mura Masa and Canadian-German singer Bülow for a track titled “She Abunai” earlier this year.
